Job Description

The Consumer Loan Processor is primarily responsible for processing a high volume of consumer loans, including home equity loans and lines of credit, while ensuring timely, accurate, courteous and confidential delivery of loan related services. A processor is an integral part of supporting a compliant lending process by meeting all regulatory requirements. Tasks include, but are not limited to, reviewing applications, funding loans, communicating with members and vendors, and managing reports with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding and ability to adhere to Credit Union policies and procedures, including security procedures and applicable state and federal lending regulations.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, maturity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while collaborating with others, even under challenging circumstances.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of loan processing or consumer lending experience in a financial service institution required, preferably a credit union.
  • High School diploma, with an Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending documents and processes, preferred.
  • Mortgage lending and document experience, preferred.
  • Excellent written communication and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
