We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer who will play a critical role in ensuring our departmental processes align with regulatory requirements and internal procedures. You will lead complex risk-based conversations, provide clear explanations of compliance requirements, discuss risks and potential controls, and support the organizations in making informed decisions. This is a full time hybrid role, collaborating with multiple small credit unions onsite and remotely.

 

Responsibilities

  • On an on-going basis, review laws and regulations that impact the credit union’s compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate the credit union’s policies, procedures, products, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Make recommendations for change where appropriate.
  • Disseminate information, answer questions, and be a subject matter expert for the credit union on compliance related issues.
  • Identify and assess risk potential of current procedures and institute new procedures that minimize loss exposure.
  • Ensure that any change in policy or procedure is communicated to impacted departments.
  • Coordinate and /or conduct internal and third party compliance reviews/audits and present a summary report to management and coordinate remediation of items identified.
  • Assist in the revision and/or design of forms, products, and programs, or promotions to ensure compliance with all State and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Develop or assist in the development of compliance training programs.
  • Ensure the credit union’s systems are secure and compliant with data protection regulations.
  • Assist with examinations, making available the information that is necessary to complete their regulatory examinations.
  • Develop and ensure implementation of record retention policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and laws.
  • Evaluate, oversee, and ensure the effectiveness of risk management strategies related to third-party vendor collaborations.
