Assistant Branch Manager / Senior Member Service Representative

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to co-lead our team and oversee the operations of our credit union branch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales, assisting with staff development, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong focus on member/customer service, operational excellence, and effective team management to achieve goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in co-leading and co-managing daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company standards.
  • Serves as a Teller and Member Service Representative, leading the team by exceptionally serving members in such capacities
  • Provides executive-level support to the President/CEO and serves as a backup for critical responsibilities in the absence of senior management
  • Drive sales initiatives to meet or exceed branch targets through effective marketing strategies and member/customer engagement.
  • Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy in transactions and adherence to cash management policies.
  • Manage loan origination processes, including loan processing, documentation, and adherence to compliance standards - including mortgage lending.
  • Promotes, explains, and opens/closes new memberships, share accounts, and all related products or services.
  • Responsible for processing detailed Automated Clearing House (ACH) files and all other daily processing reports from a variety of sources (e.g. share draft/check processing, debit card reconciliation, internal member transfers, etc.)
  • Train, mentor, and develop branch staff to enhance their skills in sales, member/customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • Fosters a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Skills

  • Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Proficient in cash handling practices and cash management principles.
  • Knowledge of loan origination processes and familiarity with mortgages.
  • Experience in loan processing with attention to detail in documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
