TopLine Financial Credit Union has been a member-owned financial services cooperative since 1935. We are looking for outgoing individuals to join our Arbor Lakes team that is dedicated to building life-long relationships to help our members reach and manage their financial goals.
The Branch Manager is responsible for managing, developing, coaching and guiding the retail sales functions and operational branch staff. Pursues achievement of organizational goals and objectives as outlined by TopLine Senior Management. Promotes and leads a sales and service culture that guides branch growth and profitability, endorses TopLine's mission of exceeding member expectations, and strives to achieve member satisfaction. Maintains quality and committed service to provide difference making service levels to the credit union’s membership. Ensures teamwork in all areas by coaching and providing support to the departments throughout the organization.
A successful Branch Manager will be able to do:
- Demonstrates a high level commitment to the organization and actively supports marketing activities. Maintains thorough knowledge of member demographic and product usage trends and effectively utilizes data for targeted sales initiatives.
- Actively promotes and contributes to positioning TopLine as a responsible community partner by seeking out and acting on opportunities to benefit the organization and the neighborhoods it serves. Encourages all staff to do the same.
- Participates on the credit union’s management team by contributing ideas and concerns and assisting with the implementation of new services, policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Identifies and works together with the appropriate department/manager to resolve technical issues, errors or inconsistencies.
- Maintains knowledge of the credit union’s key financial information and strategic direction to include general economic conditions and competitive forces. Recommends pricing strategies and product design to increase the credit union’s competitive position.
- Consistently provides a superior level of member service and is a positive role model for staff. Demonstrates excellent member service skills. Actively demonstrates commitment to strategic and corporate goals by delivering TopLine Red Book service in every interaction with members and staff. Recommends changes to policies and procedures that will enhance and improve member service and delivery systems.
- Establishes individual and team sales goals which support organizational objectives.
- Proficiently directs staff to achieve goals by working both individually with staff and in teams to communicate initiatives and develop sales techniques. Demonstrates coaching and mentoring skills and consistently maintains a positive and professional image in the workplace.
- Leads efforts to identify, introduce, and monitor additional programs designed to motivate staff towards performance, both individually and in teams. Works closely with other management staff to coordinate activities with all departments and branches by fostering teamwork with all staff and other departmental managers as appropriate. Ensures the accuracy of reporting results while maintaining internal control and compliance.
- Effectively conducts department/sales meetings, communicates sales achievements and challenges, shares ideas and coaches employees in sales/lending strategies and service skills. Maintains high morale through consistent focus on communication, recognition and training. Ensures sales staff has the tools they need to be successful, including seeking out and recommending procedures and system enhancements that will more efficiently support efforts. Consistently acknowledges desired staff behavior through positive reinforcement. Serves as a sales leader communicating a needs based sales philosophy.
- Oversees approved performance pay programs and ensures the accuracy of calculations and reports results. Maintains and reviews an accurate budget of all costs and expenditures on a monthly basis associated with area of responsibility and remains within budget guidelines.
- Supervises all branch staff, including training of all personnel to ensure a high level of service is maintained, maintaining accurate personnel documentation and performance appraisals, coordinating of scheduling, and hiring/discharging of personnel with management approval and the approval of the Human Resources Department.
- Maintains working knowledge of TopLine operations and lending functions, including both consumer-related and business-related products. Ensures all state and federal regulations and guidelines as well as Credit Union bylaws and policies/procedures are followed.
- Adheres to and maintains current knowledge of credit union by-laws, operations, and governing laws and regulations, consumer legislation, NCUA rules and state and federal laws impacting the Financial Services area. Maintains general knowledge of Personal Leave Time policy, Union Contract, federal and state laws that include but are not limited to FMLA, ADA and EEOC guidelines. Communicates with the Vice President of Branch Operations and Vice President Human Resources regarding personnel issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Four year degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience essential. At a minimum, it is expected that the Branch Manager will earn at least a two year degree. Pursuit of this degree should commence within 3 years of being promoted to position.
- Minimum of three years management/supervisory experience or equivalent experience in a retail sales and/or lending environment essential.
- Strong knowledge of branch operations including operations and lending essential.
- Proven skills as a motivator essential – strong training, coaching and leadership skills essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize essential.
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational project management skills essential.
- Ability to multi-task and work with numerous interruptions essential.
- Must have the ability to travel between credit union branch offices and other off-site locations as necessary.
- P.C. experience with Microsoft Office Software essential.
- Ability to work effectively with people in a diverse environment that encompasses regular deadlines, where change is always possible, where flexibility and immediate decision making is required.
Salary Range: $64,041.85 – 85,389.14 (salary)
